Saldo is a restaurant-intelligence service that turns your weekly business numbers into a clear report and a short list of actions. To do that, you share operational data with us. This notice explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
Saldo ("Saldo," "we," "us") is operated as a sole proprietorship based in Brooklyn, New York, United States. We provide our service remotely and process the data you send us in the United States. You can reach us any time at hello@saldo.asia or by WhatsApp on the number you use to work with us.
The data we collect
We only collect what we need to analyse your business and produce your report:
- Business and operational data you send us, point-of-sale exports, sales and revenue figures, food and beverage costs, invoices, labour and staffing data, inventory counts, and the notes your team adds about the week.
- Contact and account details, the name of your business, your name, and your WhatsApp number or email address, so we can communicate with you and deliver your report.
- Correspondence, the messages you exchange with us about your account and your reports.
We do not ask for, and do not need, personal information about your customers or staff (such as names, contact details, or payment-card data). Please send us business totals and operational figures only, not personal records about identifiable individuals.
Why we use it
We use your data for the following purposes:
- To analyse your business each week and produce your report, benchmarks, and recommended actions.
- To communicate with you about your account, your data submissions, and your reports.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the quality of our analysis and service.
- To meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
- To produce industry benchmarks, trend analysis, and research, but only in anonymized and aggregated form, as described below.
Anonymized aggregation and industry research
We may combine data derived from your reports with data from other businesses, stripped of anything that identifies you, to produce industry benchmarks, trend analysis, and research about the restaurant sector. We never disclose your individual figures or identify your business in any of this output.
These aggregate insights help you, they let us tell you how your numbers compare to similar restaurants, and, over time, they may form the basis of industry reports we publish or provide to others. When we do this:
- The data is anonymized: it is combined and summarised so that it cannot reasonably be traced back to your business.
- We apply a minimum group size before reporting any segment, so that a figure can never single out one restaurant.
- We never sell, share, or publish your individual data, your identity, or figures attributable to your specific business.
How we share data
We do not sell your individual data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share data only in these limited situations:
- Service providers who help us operate, for example, secure file storage and payment processing, and only to the extent needed to provide their service to us, under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal and regulatory requirements, where we are required by law to disclose information.
- Anonymized and aggregated insights, as described in the section above, which never identify your business.
International transfer of your data
Because we operate from the United States, the data you send us is transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection rules than your own country. By sending us your data with your consent, you acknowledge this transfer. We apply the safeguards described in this notice wherever your data is processed.
Your consent and your rights
We process your data on the basis of the consent you give us before you begin sending it, in line with Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 27 of 2022) and applicable data-protection rules. You have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about your business and ask for a copy.
- Correct data that is inaccurate or out of date.
- Ask us to delete your data.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, which stops our future processing (withdrawing consent does not affect analysis already carried out, and does not require us to remove your data from insights that were already anonymized and aggregated, since those can no longer be linked to you).
- Raise a concern with us, or with the relevant data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@saldo.asia.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as you are a client and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations and to maintain the history that makes your reports useful. When we no longer need it, we delete or fully anonymize it. Insights that were already anonymized and aggregated are not linked to you and may be retained.
How we protect it
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, including access controls and secure storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take the confidentiality of your business data seriously and limit access to it.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as our service develops or as the law requires. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know directly. The current version is always available on this page.
